Every NFL player has a “welcome to the NFL moment” when they realize they are playing in one of the most popular sports leagues in the world. It is no different for Chicago Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky, who clearly remembers his.

Trubisky, like a lot of players, remembers the first big hit he took in the NFL. His “welcome to the NFL moment” was the first time he stepped on the field at Soldier Field and realized this is where he got to play his home games.

“Definitely just getting sacked or tackled by an NFL D-lineman,” Trubisky said to Dan Patrick on the Dan Patrick show. “I got hit by Kyle Williams at Buffalo last year and I'm still feeling that. He put his helmet right into my chest and landed right on top of me. I'm still feeling that.:”

“Or, for me, just playing at Soldier Field is that ‘welcome to the NFL' moment. Being able to walk into that locker room and have all that history in that building playing at Soldier Field and playing in front of our home crowd. That never really gets old for me. It's been amazing. We're definitely excited heading into Year 3 for me to get back to Soldier Field and make the city of Chicago proud.”

Trubisky has improved in each of the first two years in the league. The team hope he can take an even bigger step forward this year. Last year Trubisky finished throwing for 3,223 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

If Trubisky can improve on last year, the Bears are going to be a very hard team to beat; maybe another Super Bowl victory will become a realistic idea for Chicago fans to entertain.
