The Chicago Bears have a marquee matchup with the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14. It will be the first time quarterbacks Mitchell Trubisky and Jared Goff share the same field since the offseason.

The two spent some time working out together with the same quarterback coach over the summer. According to Matt Eurich of 247 Sports, Trubisky admits the two became close during their time as roommates:

“It was fun,” Trubisky said. “It was a good time. We were just out there relaxing in the offseason. Training a little bit. Got to know him. We are pretty tight, good friends. He's an awesome dude. We pushed each other in the offseason. We work with the same quarterback coach out there and trainer. Just getting better in the offseason and enjoying some downtime. Just enjoying each other's company.”

There are plenty of similarities between Trubisky and Goff. Both were selected in the top two of their respective drafts and went to teams that were still struggling. As a result, they struggled to find their footing in the NFL right away.

Fortunately, it is clear the two developed much more than a strong friendship over the summer. Although there was once doubt surrounding each of their statuses as franchise quarterbacks, there is no longer. Goff has easily established himself as one of the most promising young quarterbacks in the NFL. However, his resurgence began once the Rams surrounded him with a viable supporting cast.

Meanwhile, the jury is still out on Trubisky. The Bears have taken a similar approach by surrounding him with a strong support system. While he still has plenty of work to do, he has started to give Chicago some return on its investment as they approach an NFC North title.
