The Chicago Bears have really tried hard this offseason to put pieces around second-year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky to be successful. How well the Bears ultimately do will still come down to the young quarterback and so far during training camp it has been rocky at times. According to Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune, Trubisky has looked “inconsistent” early on.

Mitch Trubisky’s performance to this point in camp could best be described as inconsistent.

This is neither surprising nor alarming. The guy has started only 12 NFL games (and only 25 total starts since high school), and now he’s learning an entirely new scheme that’s filled with flexibility to change plays and options during plays. But now that fans have been welcomed to practice, the public can see what was evident throughout spring practices — Trubisky riding the roller coaster on a play-to-play basis.

Saying Trubisky has looked inconsistent might send some Bears fans into a panic but it is still early and the first week of training camp really can't be read into too much. Trubisky is still adjusting to the NFL game and is now also having to adjust to a completely different offensive scheme.

Campbell said in his article that Trubisky has looked really good at times during camp and then he will have a few bad passes that really make some scratch their head.

The goal as training camp continues is to continue to have the good plays and try to limit how many bad passes he has in each practice.
