Struggling quarterback Mitchell Trubisky and the Chicago Bears came from way behind en route to defeating the rival Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon in the Motor City. With Trubisky and the Bears falling behind early, Chicago ultimately surged back while quieting some critics in the process.

Thanks to the team's Week 1 win over the Lions, it is safe to say that Trubisky will be back under center for the Bears come next week against the lowly New York Giants.

“For me, it’s just one game at a time,” Trubisky said following the Bears' 27-23 win over the Lions, via the Chicago Sun-Times. “This is only one game. I’ve got to continue to stay focused, to stay in this mental space that I’m in and just keep getting after it every single week. If you’re focused on writing the story while you’re going through it, then you kind of distract yourself. It’s better to just stay present, live in the moment. That’s exactly what I’m trying to do.”

Of course, the Bears made a point to acquire a veteran quarterback and former Super Bowl MVP in Nick Foles from the Jacksonville Jaguars this past offseason as Trubisky continued to struggle mightily leading up to this season.

Even so, Trubisky was still tabbed as the team's bonafide starter under center for the Bears' 2020 regular season-opener against the Lions, which had many throughout the professional football landscape scratching their heads. However, Trubisky has already managed to silence some of the doubters—at least for now.
