Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has embraced the high expectations surrounding him and his team going into the 2019 NFL season. It appears to be one of the few perks of losing a heartbreaker in the playoffs.

The 2018 campaign ended in disappointing fashion for the Bears. According to Nick Greene of Chicago Mag, Trubisky still draws motivation from their loss.

“Am I traumatized by it? Absolutely not. Am I motivated? For sure,” Trubisky said.

Trubisky's approach is indicative of how he has gone about dealing with struggles in his career thus far. He has certainly endured his fair share of ups and downs through his first two seasons in Chicago and has ultimately come out a better player because of it. He will now be tasked with doing everything he can to avoid that same feeling again.

The Bears made quite the investment when they traded up to take Trubisky with the second overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft to make him their franchise quarterback. Following a rough rookie season under center, he finally was able to show some flashes of promise under new head coach Matt Nagy.

Despite his obvious potential, the jury is still out on whether or not Trubisky will be the one to lead the Bears to the promised land. Although fans will likely not be able to see his progression until the start of the regular season, they can expect him to be further along in his development with Nagy indicating that Chicago plans to ramp things up on offense.
