Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky knows all about fans not being happy with a draft pick and offered some advice for New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. After Trubisky was taken with the second overall pick in the 2017 draft, there was some pushback from fans because Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson were both still available.

Trubisky appeared on the PFTPM podcast and said the best thing that Jones can do is block out everything that everyone is saying.

“Block out everyone on the outside,” Trubisky said via Pro Football Talk. “Block out the media, Twitter, everybody who’s hating on your situation and trying to say that you don’t deserve it. When you get to the facility, it’s all about football.”

Trubisky knows it's going to be tough for Jones early on, especially with everyone talking bad about him but as Trubisky points out, winning cures everything and if he wins some games the fans will change their mind.

“Right away, you just got to get in with your teammates and earn their respect, absolutely work your tail off, show that you’re doing absolutely whatever it takes to help the organization win, turn it around and get things going. I kind of know Daniel a little bit. I think he’s up for the challenge. For a lot of these kids, we just get picked and it’s a dream come true. You’re going to go in there, work your tail off and earn the respect of your teammates. Once you start winning games, that’s when you turn the fan base. But first things first you got to get in there and earn the respect of your peers.”

They are on different squads, but maybe Jones can reach out to Trubisky to get some more insight on the best way to handle the situation.
