Mitchell Trubisky knows the Chicago Bears were one of the most feared teams in the NFL in 2018. While the offense was not perfect, it had a lot of things going for it. And it was more than enough for that elite defense.

However, 2019 saw them take a major step back. A big reason for that was the struggles of quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. He appeared in one more game than he did the year before and threw 82 more passes.

Despite that, the quarterback threw for less yards in 2019 than he did in 2018. He also had just 17 touchdown passes, compared to 24 the year prior.

With that in mind, the Bears made a move this offseason. They traded for another veteran quarterback in Nick Foles.

This got people wondering, who will be the starter? It is a debate that will likely go on through the preseason. Both quarterbacks have their strengths and weaknesses. And fans and analysts alike will make arguments in favor of both.

Due to that, it's hard to tell if Trubisky still has a grasp on the team. According to Nick Shook of NFL.com, the quarterback believes Chicago is still his, even after the addition of Foles.

“It was kind of interesting to me, but that's the business that we're in,” Mitchell Trubisky said Friday. “I was kind of pissed off in a good way. I've been motivated since our season ended last year. I didn't feel like it went the way we wanted it to. We left a lot out there. But I'm excited for this year. I feel like it's going to be a good competition. Foles has had a crazy career, as well, so it's been cool having him in our room, talking ball. I know we're going to push each other but I still feel like this is my team.

“I'm excited for the competition and just getting on the field with my guys and showing everybody what I can still do and how hard I've been working this offseason to help the Bears win games this season.”

Mitchell Trubisky admits he was not happy. But that it was a positive thing because it is extra motivation.

The question is, which quarterback is going to be the leader of the team? It seems Mitchell Trubisky believes the team is still his.
