The Chicago Bears are holding an open competition at quarterback between Nick Foles and Mitch Trubisky, but the public is leaning toward Foles to come out on top. As a matter of fact, Foles is the huge betting favorite to win the starting quarterback job this offseason.

Earlier this offseason, Foles was sitting at a -150 favorite to become the starting quarterback for the Bears. However, with Chicago declining Trubisky's fifth-year option, Foles saw his odds increase to -320. On the other hand, Trubisky is a +200 underdog to win the starting job.

Near the beginning of free agency, the Bears acquired Foles from the Jacksonville Jaguars in a trade. Besides bringing him in to compete with Trubisky, Chicago also restructured Foles' contract for the next few years.

Seeing that Foles is under contract through 2022, it shouldn't come as a surprise that he's the favorite to start in Week 1 of the 2020 season. In addition, his prior experience with Matt Nagy gives him more of an edge over Trubisky.

From the moment that Foles arrived in Chicago, the Bears have remained adamant that both guys will get a fair chance to win the starting job. While it was reported that Trubisky will get the first snaps in training camp, Foles still has a clear shot of emerging as the victor.

For the Bears, they would undoubtedly prefer to have Trubisky win the job and do a complete one-eighty, becoming the quarterback they drafted him to be in 2017. At the same time, there's a legitimate chance that Trubisky's started in his last game with the Bears.
