Everyone was waiting to see when — or if — Mitchell Trubisky would be benched by the Chicago Bears and the time has already come. According to the NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano, Nick Foles has replaced Trubisky as the starting quarterback versus the Atlanta Falcons.

Trubisky was struggling against the Falcons on Sunday, completing just 13 of his 22 attempts for only 128 yards. The former No. 1 pick would also have one touchdown and an interception as the Bears fell down by double digits to Atlanta.

Seeing that Atlanta's defense has been one of the worst groups in the NFL so far and they are shorthanded due to injuries, it is alarming to see Trubisky falter under center. Therefore, Matt Nagy and the Bears had seen enough and have inserted Foles in at quarterback.

When the Bears acquired Foles via trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars in the offseason, the expectations were for Foles to win the starting job. Foles had previous experience with Nagy when both of them were with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.

However, after holding a quarterback competition during the offseason, Trubisky was named the starting quarterback in Week 1. In the first two games, Trubisky threw for 432 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions while completing 59.4 percent of his passes.

Above all, the Bears, in spite of Trubisky's uninspiring play, were able to secure a 2-0 record to begin the season. But with the Bears down double digits against the 0-2 Falcons, Foles is going to have a chance to earn the starting job moving forward.
