Nick Foles was brought in by the Chicago Bears this offseason to compete for the starting quarterback job. While talking to the media, Foles spoke out on his fit in Chicago's offense with Matt Nagy, per JJ Stankevitz of NBC Sports.

When the 2019 season concluded, the Bears front office and coaching staff iterated that Mitch Trubisky would be the starter in 2020. However, that sentiment would quickly be forgotten when Chicago manufactured a trade for Foles near the beginning of free agency.

Seeing that Foles is making more money than Trubisky, he's expected to be the starter when the season begins for the Bears. At the same time, Foles has previous experience with Nagy's offense.

Not to mention, the Bears declined Trubisky's fifth-year option for the 2021 season. Therefore, if he fails to show improvement this season, Trubisky will become a free agent next offseason.

Before joining the Bears, Foles spent time with Nagy with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. Besides his magical Super Bowl run in 2017, Foles has been wildly inconsistent in his career. Nonetheless, the veteran signal-caller appears to be comfortable with the offense he'll be part of in 2020.

On the other hand, Trubisky regressed in Nagy's offense a season ago. After a semi-successful season in 2018, Trubisky managed to throw for just 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 2019 with the Bears.

Some would venture to say that Trubisky has an edge over Foles due to being in Nagy's offense for two seasons. Plus, Foles hasn't had a full offseason to grasp the technicalities of Nagy's schemes with the Bears. However, seeing Foles' comments, the idea that he's behind Trubisky when it comes to the knowledge of the offense appears to be overblown.
