13 days ago, the Jacksonville Jaguars agreed to send veteran quarterback and former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles to the Chicago Bears in a trade. On Wednesday, the trade became official as both teams announced the deal via their respective Twitter accounts.

In exchange for Foles, the Jaguars received a fourth-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft that will convey as the 140th overall selection.

Last offseason, the Jags signed the former Philadelphia Eagles signal-caller to a big four-year deal worth $88 million. The 31-year-old quarterback only lasted one season in Duval County and missed most of the year after suffering a broken clavicle in the opening game.

That injury forced Foles to sit out until Week 10 when he returned as the starter but went 0-3 before once again being replaced by rookie Gardner Minshew.

In four games with Jacksonville, Foles completed 65.8 percent of his passes for 736 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Luckily for Jacksonville, they seemed to have found a hidden gem in the sixth round of the 2019 draft. In 12 starts for the injured Foles last season, the fan-favorite Minshew totaled 21 touchdowns, only threw six interceptions and showed the ability to extend plays with his legs/

As for Chicago, the team brings in Foles after former No. 2 overall pick Mitchell Trubisky struggled to effectively run the offense in his third year. It is unclear if the Bears organization belives that Foles could enter the 2020 season as their starter but after ranking 29th in points per game last season, Foles has been brought in to, at the very least, light a fire under their young quarterback.
