It appears as though a reunion might be on the table in the “Windy City” with the NFL offseason currently in its very early stages. Most recently a member of the San Francisco 49ers, veteran place kicker Robbie Gould has not ruled out returning to the Chicago Bears, a team that could certainly use some help on special teams.

“The McCaskey family (owners) changed my family's life,” said Gould, who watched from a suite at Soldier Field with his wife and three young sons as the Bears lost to the Philadelphia Eagles this past postseason, via the Associated Press. “They gave us a lot of great opportunities in one of the greatest sports cities you'll ever find. I'm thankful that they gave me that opportunity. I'll be forever thankful. My kids will be raised Bears fans. This is home.”

However, Gould isn't running out of the Bay Area just yet as the 49ers could potentially re-sign the seasoned special teamer as well.

“They have the opportunity to get a contract done with me,” Gould added in regards to the 49ers, via the Associated Press. “Obviously, they have exclusive rights to talk to me until free agency opens. There's no reason not to. … At this point, I'm just enjoying being around my kids and not really worried about the football contract.”

Leading to a possible reunion between the Bears and Gould, current Chicago place kicker Cody Parkey encountered quite the disappointing season in 2018-19 while repeatedly missing pivotal kicks down the stretch.
