The Chicago Bears‘ brass still found plenty of reasons to keep both head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace at the helm moving forward. Despite their 8-8 regular season record, the decision-makers still continue to put a lot of trust in the leadership of the two individuals.
According to Brad Spielberger, the Bears owner was reportedly impressed in their handling of the team's six-game losing streak.
Again, the 6-game losing streak is some existential disaster that happened TO the Bears, not BECAUSE of them. https://t.co/DJtvKAzIgl

Team chairman George McCaskey shared that he was frustrated just like everyone else but he also knows that both Pace and Nagy will need time to grow in their respective roles, via Chris Emma.
George McCaskey: "Have mistakes been made? Yes. But I think Ryan (Pace) and Matt (Nagy) are learning and growing in their roles. … I understand your frustration. We're frustrated, too." pic.twitter.com/zn95OvviFI

George McCaskey said after retaining Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy: "We need to see improvement. We're not satisfied with where we are now. … We need to see progress."

Bears president Ted Phillips also spoke on the matter and said that they are going to continue on the success that they have attained while also recognizing their failures moving forward.
Ted Phillips: "There's plenty of improvement that has to be made. But Ryan (Pace) and Matt (Nagy) have the ability. … We're going to recognize our failures. We're going to build on successes." pic.twitter.com/J9nHHVEsHJ

Ted Phillips: "There's a desire to fire everyone. When you don't win enough games, fire everyone. That's not a recipe for success in our opinion."

Phillips also claimed that the Bears have ‘the football culture that all teams strive for', shortly after their loss against the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card round, per Jason Lieser.
"We have the football culture that all teams strive for," Ted Phillips says three days after Anthony Miller's performance art in the New Orleans game.

McCaskey, on the other hand, still believes that the Bears have what it takes to compete for a title in the future. He noted that the team had a good performance in the 2020 NFL Draft and successfully braved adversity during the regular season.
George McCaskey's reasons why the Bears are still on track for a title:
1. Good draft in 2020.
2. The team "stuck together" during adversity, meaning the 6-game losing streak. That's really the best thing you can say: The Bears did a great job having a 6-game losing streak.

The Bears had a roller-coaster campaign in the 2020 NFL season. They started the season by winning five of their first six games but eventually dwindled to have a six-game losing skid. Nagy recuperated his squad to conclude the regular season with a three-game winning streak to punch their ticket to the postseason.
Despite the early exit, it looks like Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace will still remain in Windy City after all the events that transpired. The Bears' brass believes that the two individuals will bring them to the promised land and the upcoming season will tell whether or not their decision to retain both of them was the best move for the team.
