Chicago Bears tight end Trey Burton is questionable for Sunday's showdown in Denver with the Broncos. The second-year Bear and former Eagle is dealing with a groin injury that caused him to miss the Week 1 opener against the Green Bay Packers. Leading up to Week 2, he practiced every day, albeit, in limited fashion.

Burton is one of four Bears questionable in the team's latest injury report; he joins NT Eddie Goldman, LB Nick Kiwatkoski, and DT Bilal Nichols.

On Friday, head coach Matt Nagy gave an update on the tight end's injury, saying at Friday's post-practice press conference:

“I feel better this week than I did last week at this time. That's by no means saying that he's [Burton] going to play, I'm not saying that, but what I'm saying is I definitely feel better today than I did last week at this time.”

Nagy noted that Burton will fly with the team and will join the team for pre-game workouts, saying:

“I want to be able to see his feedback on how he feels. I know he felt good last week, he felt good, but we just felt collectively it's not just him — he's not going to tell us whether he's playing or not, we're going to all work together. So, we'll see how he looks out there when he gets to that point.”

Whether or not Burton will play sounds like a gametime decision for Chitown. If he doesn't, Adam Shaheen will likely insert as the starter; he caught one pass for six yards Week 1.
