Following a disappointing 2017 campaign, the Chicago Bears have spent much of the NFL offseason retooling their roster to make a significant push this upcoming year. It has seen the front office be among the most active in the league adding proven talent into the mix.

However, this effort hasn't exactly been met with much appeasement of the Las Vegas betting odds with the Bears sitting at the bottom to win the NFC Championship game in the 2018 campaign, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Las Vegas isn’t buying what the Bears are selling. The Bovada odds as to the chances of winning the NFC championship have the Bears tied for the bottom, at 40-1. (The Cardinals, also at 40-1, remain who we thought they were.)

Although it is quite early, Chicago hasn't been one of the teams that have followed through on any splashy offseason in the last decade that has thrust them into the title picture. Second-year quarterback Mitchell Turbisky may have shown some promise, but it no certainty that the team will take the next leap in 2018.

That said, the Bears have brought in some high-impact players that could become huge pieces to the puzzle in former Pro Bowl wide receiver Allen Robinson along with veteran wideout Taylor Gabriel, tight end Trey Burton. This adds to their already promising running game led by Pro Bowl running back Jordan Howard. All of this could help provide Turbisky the opportunity to take that next step in his development while leading Chicago to success.

It could become a problematic change in what has become a difficult division with the likes of the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, and Detroit Lions all potentially vying for playoff spots next season. If there is any hope of the Bears reaching the postseason, it will have to start with strong play in the division that could be the deciding factor for any shot to blow past those current betting odds.
