The Chicago Bears have a superstar wide receiver in Allen Robinson. However, it is unclear how much longer they will have him as they can't seem to work out a contract extension.

Now according to Jason La Canfora of CBSsports.com, have engaged in start and stop contract extension negotiations so far.

This is not exactly bad news, but it is not good news either. At least Robinson and the Bears are attempting to get something done. But the fact that they continuously stall out and no real progress has been made is not promising.

Robinson is far and away the best receiver on Chicago, and pretty easily their best offensive weapon overall.

Heading into Week 4 this year, Robinson led the team in receptions (18) and receiving yards (230) while recording one touchdown.

Then in Week 4, the wide receiver added to his numbers. He finished the game with seven receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown. It was the only touchdown the Bears scored all game.

With Robinson being one of the best (and most underrated) wide receivers in the NFL, it is no surprise he is expecting a massive contract. What is a little surprising is that the Bears don't seem to agree.

The Bears are willing to pay Robinson for a long-term deal. However, it appears they are not ready to go as high as the receiver wants.

There is still plenty of time to work out a deal. Right now, it does not seem the two sides are close.

Will Robinson and the Bears figure something out? Or will we have to wait until the end of the year?

We will have to wait and see, but the future is not very encouraging for Bears fans.
