The Chicago Bears have already made it known that Mitchell Trubisky will be the starting quarterback in 2020. However, they do want to add someone else to the roster that can compete with Trubisky. While taking a look at Chicago's options, Jeremy Fowler at ESPN says that Marcus Mariota and Case Keenum are potential free-agent options for the Bears.

Until the end of time, fans in Chicago are going to stomach the fact that the Bears selected Trubisky in the 2017 NFL Draft instead of Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. Unlike Mahomes and Watson, Trubisky has failed to show that he can be a franchise quarterback in the NFL.

Despite his struggles, GM Ryan Pace was confident in saying that Trubisky will be the starter next season. At the same time, he was non-committal to saying that the team would pick up his fifth-year option for 2021.

In his third season in the NFL, Trubisky showed regression for the Bears in 2019. The North Carolina product finished the year with 3,138 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 10 touchdowns.

Due to his inconsistency, it would make sense for Chicago to sign a veteran this offseason. As a result, Mariota and Keenum could be on the Bears' radar in free agency.

Similar to Trubisky, Mariota was the No. 2 pick in his respective draft back in 2015. But after starting in 61 games for the Tennessee Titans, Mariota is headed toward free agency in 2020.

On the other hand, Keenum has been a journeyman quarterback in recent years, starting for four different teams in the last four seasons. Regardless of who it is, it appears that Trubisky will have some competition in training camp before next season.
