According to a Tuesday evening report from Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune, it appears there won't be that much change in the “Windy City” ahead of the 2021 NFL campaign. Although Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano will reportedly be retiring, both general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy will indeed be back for 2021, or so it seems.

While many Bears fans were calling for the firing of Pace, Nagy or both, Chicago will apparently be giving this tandem one last shot at redemption.

Although the Bears somehow reached the postseason in 2020-21, it was an ugly year for Chicago. After a perfect 5-1 start to the season, which was obviously some sort of anomaly, the Bears went on to lose six consecutive games before finishing the regular season with an even 8-8 record.

Thanks to the Los Angeles Rams defeating the slumping Arizona Cardinals in Week 17, Chicago ultimately became the seventh and final seed in the NFC playoff picture. Of course, Nagy's Bears were then promptly ousted from Super Bowl contention by the No. 2 seeded New Orleans Saints, who absolutely dominated Chicago from start to finish.

The Saints also defeated the Bears in Chicago during the regular season by the score of 26-23, though it did take overtime to get it done the first time around.

Perhaps the highlight of the team's season still came down in New Orleans, though, as the Bears' matchup against the Saints aired on the children's network Nickelodeon, which was a huge hit for those on social media and the broadcast's viewers.

The Bears head into their offseason knowing that they will have to replace their defensive coordinator. Chuck Pagano retired from coaching on Tuesday, creating a very delicate situation with a coaching vacancy on staff. Can Chicago land an elite defensive coordinator for 2021, even though any candidate for the job knows the head coach and GM are in a precarious spot for 2022?
