It has been a roller-coaster ride for the Chicago Bears this season, with a 5-1 start then followed by a six-game losing streak that seemed to doom their playoff chances and the regime of general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy. However, the Bears are on a three-game winning streak and have a chance to make the playoffs heading into their Week 17 showdown against the rival Green Bay Packers.

Thanks to this turnaround, Nagy's job appears to be safe:

Nagy gave up play-calling duties earlier this season and handed the reins to Bears offensive coordinator Bill Lazor due to the team's offensive struggles. Chicago's offense has found a groove of late against a string of bad defenses, hitting the 30-point mark in four consecutive games. It appears Nagy is giving Lazor a major assist when it comes to calling the plays.

Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has played a big role in the offensive resurgence after he was benched earlier this season in favor of Nick Foles. Trubisky was brought back as a starter once again after the veteran went down with a hip injury in Week 10 against the Minnesota Vikings.

With an 8-7 record, the Bears still have a chance to clinch a postseason berth with either a win over the Packers or an Arizona Cardinals loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Even if Chicago fails to make the playoffs, it seems this late surge has saved Nagy's job after it looked like he was a goner earlier this season, though an ugly loss to Green Bay could potentially alter the outlook.
