In what initially served as one of the most uneventful games in recent memory, Sunday afternoon's clash between the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears surely went out with a bang — to say the least. With the Bears ultimately coming out on top on the road in Denver en route to evening the team's record at 1-1, the Broncos appeared to be on their way to victory with Chicago place kicker Eddy Pineiro spoiling all the fun for the hometown fans.

As time expired in regulation, Pineiro booted a 53-yard game-winning field goal through the uprights to give the Bears a narrow 16-14 win in Denver.

While Pineiro's game-winning field goal was the highlight of the game in the end, there were a few plays that could have taken the cake for such an honor had his 53-yard attempt not made its way through the uprights.

Leading to Pineiro's attempt from more than 50 yards out to seal the deal for Chicago, the Bears managed to go down the field down by one point with less than one minute to play after the Broncos not only scored a touchdown, but then converted a two-point conversion to take a quick 14-13 lead.

Briefly holding a lead that looked like it would be enough to win the game, the Broncos allowed the Bears to march down the field in addition to giving up a first down with one second remaining on fourth down and 15.

Now 0-2 on the season, the Broncos will be forced to regroup in a hurry as this win could eventually serve as a major turning point in the Bears season.
