The Chicago Bears were seemingly on the verge of closing the gap right before halftime with one of their more extensive drives of the game. Unfortunately, it appears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky had other ideas.

Despite needing just a few yards for the first down to keep the drive alive, Trubisky opted instead to try and get to the outside on his scramble, via Christian D'Andrea of SB Nation:

Trubisky could very well have ut his head down and charged forward for the first down. Instead, he came up short and ultimately wound up, providing further proof of his lackluster play in the 2019 NFL season.

Trubisky is now being outplayed by a rookie quarterback that had spent the bulk of the season as a member of the practice squad. Regardless, quarterback David Blough is showing that he is more than up to the task. It remains to be seen whether or not Trubisky is.
