The Memphis Grizzlies have now joined the free agency frenzy as they have recently come to terms with free agent shooting guard Ben McLemore. The deal is reportedly for two years, $11 million, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

He will join the team needing depth in their guard rotation, especially with the uncertainty in Vince Carter‘s future. McLemore also has the chance to compete for the starting job once training camp starts.

The 24-year-old Kansas product has spent his first four seasons in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings and appeared in a total of 293 games, starting in 216 of them. However, his lack of efficiency from the perimeter, extending to beyond the arc, has become his liability and has caused him to only average 25.5 minutes per game. He more than makes up for it though with his ability to attack the basket with his crazy hops, producing numbers of 9.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game for his career.

It's no secret that the Grizzlies need more outside shooters and they are hoping that McLemore can improve his own shot in order to be more valuable to them. The training camp this year will be crucial for the 6-foot-5 guard as the Grizzlies' coaching staff is expected to pay close attention to him, and develop him into the player they project him to be.
