Sixers swingman Ben Simmons doesn't take many shots from distance. In fact, he's yet to attempt a three-pointer this season. However, in Tuesday night's overtime loss to the Boston Celtics, the Australian-born star knocked down the longest jumper of his career.

It sounds good, but Ben's shot came from 22 feet, which is more than one foot in front of the three-point line (23.75 feet). His previous long came last season, when he knocked down a 20-footer against the Miami Heat.

Though the Sixers were defeated, 121-114, Simmons managed to post another solid performance. In his 38 minutes of playing time, the 22-year-old racked up 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field, 14 rebounds and eight assists. Joel Embiid led the team in scoring with 34 points and 16 rebounds.

A lot has been said of Simmons' jump-shot. The criticism is not without merit, as he hadn’t made a shot outside 14-feet this season before Wednesday.

Despite his jump-shooting woes, Simmons has become a key member of Philly's rotation. In his 34 appearances with the Sixers this season (all starts), the former No. 1 overall pick has recorded averages of 16.0 points on 58.2 percent shooting fro the field, 9.3 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 1.3 steals and just under one block (0.8) in 33.3 minutes per outing.

Simmons and the Sixers will be back in action on Thursday night, when they'll travel to Utah for a matchup against the Jazz. Tip-off inside Vivint Smart Home Arena is set for 10:30 p.m. EST with TNT having live broadcast coverage.
