Philadelphia 76ers super rookie Ben Simmons is apparently as good in basketball as he is in stating the obvious. The Sixers have made it clear with their season-long play that they are serious contenders for the Eastern Conference title, thanks to the fantastic play of its young duo of Simmons and center Joel Embiid. And when Simmons was asked about how good Philly could be in the playoffs once Embiid recovers from a head injury, the former LSU Tiger simply said what most NBA observers would not have any problem agreeing with, via Sarah Todd of Philly.com.

For the rest of the team, one word kept coming up when asked what the Sixers could be when Embiid rejoins the them on the court.

“It would be scary. Scary,” Ben Simmons said after the game.

Simmons gave that quote following a morale-boosting win 132-130 home win over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. That the Sixers successfully took down the defending Eastern Conference champions minus Joel Embiid shows just how confident and capable Philadelphia has become.

Embiid is currently sidelined after undergoing a surgery to repair an orbital fracture he sustained from a collision with teammate Markelle Fultz late last month.

The win over Cavs also gave the Sixers the advantage over Cleveland in the race to the third spot in the East, a favorable spot considering that the No. 3 seed in the conference will avoid the potential of facing the No. 1 seeds Toronto Raptors in the second round of the playoffs.
