Philadelphia 76ers first overall selection Ben Simmons has been taken for precautionary imaging after rolling his right ankle during a scrimmage Friday, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

While it's only an ankle roll, the Sixers will have to treat Simmons with the utmost care, being the centerpiece and potentially the future star of the team.

The 20-year-old recently told media he had gained a massive 33 pounds in the offseason from his time in LSU.

While rolling an ankle is quite a common basketball injury, it can present complications, especially when adding that much weight over such a short span, as it is more torque applied to the ankle area during cuts and quick movement.

Ben Simmons posted 19.2 points, 11.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and two steals per game as a freshman in his only year in college.
