A.J. Green went through a bit of an injury scare last week when the Cincinnati Bengals faced off against the Carolina Panthers. In the first quarter of the game, Green dove for a pass in the end zone and hit his head on the ground. He stood up looking in pain and had to come out of the game to be checked out by trainers.
Thankfully, Green's injury is nothing more than a little bruising. He may be sore, but he will be able to play this week against the Atlanta Falcons.
Talking to Paul Dehner Jr. of Cincinnati.com, Green discussed how he currently feels and his status for Week 4.
“I feel great. I had the same thing in college. Came down on my butt just like that. It was a little scary at first. Could have been a lot worse. But I feel good. Little sore yesterday, but today I felt good. No limitations so I’m fine.”
Speaking of the matchup this week, Green will get to go up against Julio Jones. It's not an every week occurrence that two superstar receivers go up against each other. Jones talked about the matchup, but made it clear that there is nothing special about this game.
“I play offense. He plays offense. It’s nothing to me. Julio, I talk to him in the offseason. We see each other around. A great person, great football player.”
Green has gotten off to a hot start this season for the Bengals. He has already amassed 16 receptions for 219 yards and four touchdowns. Those numbers show exactly why the Bengals could not have afforded losing him to injury for any length of time.
Expect to see Green a full go this week against the Falcons. He feels great and is ready to help the Bengals try to move to 3-1 on the season against a tough opponent.
