Last season was a tough one for A.J. Green and the Cincinnati Bengals. Green had injuries throughout the year but ended up needing surgery this offseason on his toe.

At his football camp, Green said that he has been medically cleared following his toe surgery earlier this offseason. That's great news for the Bengals and Zac Taylor—the Bengals new head coach.

In 2018, Green missed seven games throughout the year. With his absence, Cincinnati's offense struggled to get much of anything going. Although, Tyler Boyd and Joe Mixon flashed their potential within the offense.

Heading into this season, the Bengals will need a healthy version of Green to reach their full potential. After all, Green is playing in a contract year with Cincinnati in 2019—although he said he doesn't view himself playing anywhere else.

Since being drafted by the Bengals in 2011, Green has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. Over those eight seasons, he has averaged 75 receptions, 1,113 yards, and nearly eight touchdowns per season.

His numbers have been consistently great despite the inconsistency from Andy Dalton over the years. Nonetheless, this year could be different with Taylor running the show rather than Marvin Lewis.

Lewis was the head coach for 16 seasons but failed to win a playoff game in any of those seasons. Therefore, a change needed to be made in hopes to change the course of their franchise. Hopefully, Green—among others—can remain healthy in 2019 after he has been medically cleared from his toe surgery this offseason.
