Cincinnati Bengals young pass rusher Carl Lawson is expected to be ready for the team's week one matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

In an NFL.com story, Lawson made it clear that he wants to be ready for the season opener:

“The goal is to be out there Week 1, and I'm feeling great,” Lawson said. “Thankfully I can take care of my body, I've got a lot of different resources, I can fly to places, I can do everything underneath the sun because I have the money to do it. So, it's been a great rehab process.”

In his rookie season, Lawson impressed many with 8.5 sacks and 21 quarterback hits, but Lawson only had one sack through eight weeks before tearing his ACL.

Lawson, 23, is a young piece for the Bengals who they hope will be back to his rookie form.

Cincinnati has been riddled with injuries for their young players, with wide receiver John Ross getting banged up his first season, as well as new rookie Jonah Williams suffering a shoulder injury that will keep him out in 2019.

Lawson's hopeful return would put him in one of the NFL's most underrated defensive line with Geno Atkins, Carlos Dunlap, and Andrew Billings.

Coming off an injury and already low team expectations, Lawson and the rest of the defensive line can surprise many.
