Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Carl Lawson will officially not play on Monday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team announced. His inactive status should come as no surprise, as he missed all of last week's practice with a hamstring and was “doubtful” to play on the official injury report.

Defensive end Kerry Wynn (concussion), defensive tackle Ryan Glasgow (thigh), running back Trayveon Williams, offensive tackle Cordy Glenn (concussion), wide receiver A.J. Green (ankle) and quarterback Jake Dolegola join Lawson as those inactive on Monday. With Lawson and Wynn out, Cincinnati has just one healthy depth defensive end, Andrew Brown.

Lawson hasn't played since Week 2. For the season, he has two combined tackle and a quarterback hit to his name. The third-year defensive end has struggled to remain healthy since the Bengals made him a fourth-round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft. For his career, he's played just one healthy season (his rookie one).

Lawson was active for Week 3, against the Buffalo Bills. However, he didn't play in their loss.

On the other side of the ball, the Steelers are dealing with injuries of their own. Tight end Vance McDonald (shoulder), Fullback Roosevelt Nix (knee), linebacker Anthony Chickillo (foot), offensive lineman Fred Jackson, offensive lineman Chukwuma Okorafor, defensive end Isaiah Buggs and linebacker Vince Williams (hamstring) are all out for the game.

Both the Bengals and Steelers are 0-3 heading into the rivalry game on Monday night. While both may not be playoff contenders through the first three weeks, there is enough time to turn it around; at least, for the winning team.
