The Cincinnati Bengals recently fired long time head coach Marvin Lewis ,and it appears their move to fill the vacancy could come from within the organization via Hue Jackson

Hue Jackson is currently the team's special assistant to the head coach, but he spent 2012-15 under several roles with the Bengals. Former head coach Marvin Lewis gave Jackson the nod by endorsing him as the team's next head coach.

Jackson recently served as the Cleveland Browns head coach from 2016-18, going 3-36-1 in the position. The Browns did begin to find success with Jackson in 2018, but ultimately the organization moved on let Jackson go.

Another candidate is Bengals current offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, but he doesn't have head coaching experience like Jackson. The Bengals organization may have been planning for Jackson to take over for Lewis one the season was over, since the fate of the Bengals has been decided for quite some time now.

Although Cincinnati looked strong at the beginning of the season, they quickly fell apart. The loss of quarterback Andy Dalton and a disappointing defense were a perfect recipe for disaster for the Bengals.

The Bengals are one of the most disappointing teams in the league considering the level of talent they possess, but perhaps a change of scenery could turn things around for Cincy. Jackson and Lazor could form a great bond and get things rolling, but the defensive side of the ball was really the biggest issue for the Bengals this past season, giving up points at will.
