The Cincinnati Bengals have announced the hiring of a few coaches to Zach Taylor's staff including Steve Jackson as the cornerback's coach. Al Golden will be the team's linebackers coach, and special teams coordinator Darrin Simmons will add assistant head coach to his title.

Jackson has spent the last two years with the New York Jets as an assistant defensive backs coach. He has also been a defensive backs coach for the Tennessee Titans, Detroit Lions, Washington Redskins, and Buffalo Bills. Before getting into coaching, he was a defensive back for the Houston Oilers and Tennessee Titans.

Al Golden has bounced around college and pro football with his latest stop being with the Detroit Lions as tight ends and linebackers coach. He was let go after the 2019 season. Golden has head coaching experience with the Temple Owls and Miami Hurricanes, which should only help the Bengals. He has also been a defensive coordinator and linebackers coach in the college ranks, too.

Taylor has made it clear this offseason he is going to do anything he can to do to make the Bengals better and that starts with getting the best staff surrounding him.

“Yeah. I think we absolutely want to find, however we can improve this team, we want to go out there and do it. That would be a great way to supplement your team.”

The Bengals also own the top overall pick and that should be another chance for the team to improve their team. Most experts believe the Bengals will select LSU quarterback Joe Burrow.
