Could Devin White become a member of the Bengals? A new report suggests that the Cincinnati team is interested in the LSU linebacker.

According to CBS Sports, White is of interest to the team because of their history with a terrible defense. White, who is considered a top-10 overall pick, will meet with the Bengals sometime today.

White had an impressive combine, running a 4.42-second 40-yard dash time even at six-feet tall and 237 pounds. He also recorded one of the best vertical jumps of this linebacker class — 39.5 inches.

Despite his impressive college career, however, Devin White is a controversial player because in the past, he'd had multiple run-ins with police. In November 2015, he and his teammate Keuntra Gipson were arrested for having consensual sex with a 14-year-old, a misdemeanor in Louisiana. One month later, White was arrested for misdemeanor charges of careless operation of a motor vehicle and flight from an officer.

Because of his legal situation, White was dismissed from the 2015 Under Armour All-America Game. Despite these controversies, he was still able to sign with LSU to play football.

ESPN has bold predictions for Devin White:

“There are a lot of needs here, but White is a three-down backer who can play sideline to sideline. He’s one of my top prospects in the class and really impressed at the combine. The Bengals need a quarterback of the defense, and the value for White is tremendous outside of the top 10.”
