Week 13 of the NFL season featured one highly anticipated quarterback duel, as Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow squared off with Los Angeles Chargers passer Justin Herbert.

This was the first encounter between these two top-six picks from the 2020 NFL Draft and, overall, Herbert had the last laugh as he guided the Chargers to a 41-22 win over the Bengals. The former Oregon Ducks star recorded three passing touchdowns to go along with a formidable 118.4 passer rating. The one-time Heisman Trophy winner, who suffered a dislocated pinky finger injury during the contest, posted a 70.8 passer rating, which is the third lowest of his season.

After the loss, Burrow took some time to laud Herbert, who has now recorded 27 passing touchdowns on the campaign.

“He's a really good player that I have a lot of fun watching,” Burrow said. “I like watching good quarterbacks go out there and operate. He's a really good quarterback.”

There sure is no denying that these two passers are among the future star talents of the NFL. They each have what it takes to one day be awarded the NFL MVP award.

In the unpredictable world of the NFL, there is always a possibility that Herbert and Burrow could face off in the playoffs later this season. As it stands, with the late window of games in Week 13 still to be completed, the Chargers hold the No. 6 seed in the AFC while the Bengals sit at the No. 7 seed. More so, both teams each are still alive in their respective divisional races.
