There were already murmurs that Cordy Glenn and the Cincinnati Bengals could be headed toward a divorce; that was confirmed on Monday. With two weeks until free agency, Cincinnati wants to trade Glenn, with the intent to release him if they can't find a trade partner.

The Bengals selected Glenn with the 41st overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Since coming into the NFL, the Georgia product has been a starting left tackle for Cincinnati.

However, the veteran left tackle has missed 28 games due to injury in the past four seasons. In his first four seasons, Glenn was only sidelined for three games due to injury.

In the team's second preseason game, Glenn suffered a concussion. As a result, he was only able to suit up in six games in 2019 with the Bengals. Then, Glenn proceeded to ask for his release because of how Cincinnati handled his head injury.

After an injury-riddled season, Glenn is heading into the final year of his current contract. With injuries being a legitimate concern, it's tough to envision a team surrendering a draft pick to acquire Glenn.

On the other hand, Glenn is only a $9.5 million cap hit in 2020, making him an affordable option. At the same time, you could wait for his inevitable release and sign him for cheaper. For the Bengals, they could create $9.5 million in cap savings if they were to release or trade Glenn.

Cincinnati is heading into a pivotal offseason for the franchise and it is probably best to move on from Glenn. It just remains to be seen when and how that occurs this offseason.
