Joe Burrow hasn't been able to do much in his first NFL offseason with the Cincinnati Bengals due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the rookie passer is doing as much as he can to keep himself ready. Jimmy Burrow, Joe's father, shared what his son has been doing to prepare himself for his first year with the Bengals.

“We don't go out as much as we usually do and that's never been one of Joe's things,” said Jimmy Burrow, Joe Burrow's father, in a deep dive into the rookie quarterback's offseason work by bengals.com senior writer Geoff Hobson. “He very rarely goes out. He keeps busy during the day with the Bengals coaching staff and he throws once or twice a week. He's backed off because there isn't a report date yet for sure.

For quarterbacks, especially rookies, they typically use the offseason to build chemistry with their wide receivers. But with the COVID-19 pandemic, Burrow hasn't been able to spend much time throwing to his new teammates.

While Burrow hasn't been able to go through as many workouts, he's been spending more time than usual with his family. That is something that his father pointed out as a positive in this entire situation.

“It's the first time in at least five years we've had this much time as a family. It's been tough for Joe, but I'm sure we'll look back on these days and say this is a pretty special time for us.”

Entering his rookie season, Burrow is expected to prove why he was taken with the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Bengals. If he can play similar to how he did in his final year at LSU, then Burrow has nothing to worry about in 2020.
