The Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams are preparing for a showdown in the Super Bowl. Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow has surprised seemingly everyone in the NFL but himself and the organization in leading his team to this point. Just a year after enduring a season-ending injury, Burrow has resoundingly returned and played like one of the best quarterbacks in the league. But there wasn't always a time where he was destined to be a star signal-caller. The Bengals quarterback revealed the man who changed his football career forever, via NFL.com.

“I wanted to be a running back or a receiver, I don't know why,” he said. “I guess I thought in peewee football we weren't gonna throw the ball very much, so I wanted to have the ball in my hand. Obviously, I'm glad it worked out the way that it did. This is my career, I don't know if I'd be an NFL wide receiver, that's probably a pipe dream, but I can play quarterback pretty well.”

Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow revealed that he didn't always want to play quarterback, dating back to his days as a peewee football player. The Bengals star figured that he wouldn't be throwing the ball that much as a young player, so he opted to play running back or wide receiver.

Bengals fans owe Burrow's peewee football coach a free dinner for steering the NFL star towards the quarterback position, which, as Burrow himself said, he “plays pretty well.”

Somebody hire that peewee football coach as an NFL scout! In all seriousness, this is a cool story about Joe Burrow, whose talent as a quarterback has completely turned the Bengals' franchise around.

And it all started on a peewee football field.
