The Cincinnati Bengals currently find themselves in an unfavorable position as their starting quarterback in Joe Burrow recently suffered a multitude of injuries including a torn ACL, MCL, and other damages to his left knee in their Week 11 tilt against the Washington Football Team.

In response to the situation, ESPN analyst Booger McFarland suggested a wild take to the Bengals organization during Monday Night Football's halftime show, as per Sports Illustrated:

“If you're saying it's going to be 9-12 months and you're talking about it's already in jeopardy as far as '21 season, I'm not bringing him back until 2022,” he said. “Joe Burrow is a franchise quarterback. He's the future of this Bengals team. Doesn't seem to be ready to win now. Don't risk him in 2021. Sit him out, bring him back in '22.”

Through 11 weeks into the 2020 NFL season, the Bengals currently find themselves in a 2-7-1 record to settle in the bottom spot of the AFC North division. At this juncture of their campaign, it is safe to say that they should already be looking ahead for next season, especially with their franchise quarterback already ruled out for their coming games.

The Bengals front office is also heading to a pivotal offseason as they aim to build around Burrow and surround him with the necessary help that he will need for next season. The team's struggling offensive line and its inconsistent receiving corps currently serve as the areas of concern for the Bengals.

Head coach Zac Taylor will hope to navigate his way without Burrow at the helm for the remainder of their campaign and hope to end the season with respectable outings. The 2021 NFL season will see whether or not the Bengals will indeed follow Booger McFarland's friendly advice moving forward.
