Cleveland Browns linebacker Joe Schobert will part ways with the team and is set to test the market as a free agent this offseason. It appears Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon has already started the recruiting process.

Mixon took to Twitter to express his interest in signing him on the Bengals' behalf:

Mixon's comments may come as a bit of a surprise considering the two have competed as divisional rivals in the AFC North. Regardless, it is safe to say that there is a strong sense of respect on his part and is already intrigued by the prospect of becoming teammates. It now remains to be seen if the Bengals share the same level of interest.

Schobert should certainly garner plenty of interest on the market in free agency. The Green Bay Packers have already been pegged as one of the early frontrunners to land his services. The one-time Pro Bowler is entering the prime of his career at 26 years old and is reportedly looking for a deal that will pay him over $10 million per year.

The Bengals are still in the midst of a grueling rebuild and will be ushering in even more changes to their roster this offseason. Bringing in a player of Schobert's caliber could help kickstart the process. Although Cincinnati has not exactly become a hotbed for free agents given their struggles in recent years, they could serve as an intriguing option if he is looking to stay in-state for the same amount of money he would receive elsewhere.
