Running back Joe Mixon has full belief that the Cincinnati Bengals can surpass in the 2022 NFL season what they achieved in the previous campaign, where they managed to reach the Super Bowl. While they failed to have a Super Bowl parade after losing to the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl 56, Joe Burrow and the Bengals have put the rest of the league on notice with the success they had in the 2021 NFL season, and Mixon is already starting up Cincinnati's hype machine (h/t Kevin Patra of the NFL Network).

“To be honest, I feel like we might be the hottest thing smokin' in the NFL on Sundays,” running back Joe Mixon recently said, via Charlie Walter of KPIX. “With the talent we got and who we added onto this year, I feel like we're bound to have a hell of a season. The best thing about it is we've been there before, and we know how to get there. We've just gotta stick to the basics, one week at a time, and that's what's gonna happen.”

The Bengals surprised the AFC in 2021 with a high-powered offense that averaged 26.3 points and 256.0 passing yards per game — both top 10 in the NFL. After getting repeatedly thrown to the ground in large part because of a faulty protection unit, Burrow can expect to stay upright in the pocket more often in 2022, with the Bengals making some upgrades to the offensive line.

As for Mixon, he's going to be a key factor for the Bengals' attack, especially because of his ability to be a threat not only on the ground attack but in the passing game as well.
