The Cincinnati Bengals have been without A.J. Green for their first four games of the season and will lose one of their other wide receiver options for a couple of games. John Ross is expected to miss multiple games with a shoulder injury, per Mike Garafolo of Pro Football Talk.

The speedy wideout injured his shoulder on Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After undergoing an MRI on Tuesday, the expected timetable for Ross to return to the team is close to a month.

Prior to getting hurt, the third-year wide receiver was showing improvements in the offense this season. Over the course of four games to begin the season, Ross has hauled in 16 passes for 328 yards and three touchdowns.

In addition, the Bengals wide receiver is fourth in the NFL with an impressive 20.5 yards per reception this season. As a result of Ross being out, Cincinnati's offense is going to struggle to create big plays down the field.

With Ross missing time, expect to see more of Auden Tate and Alex Erickson in the offense alongside Tyler Boyd. Both Tate and Erickson have combined for 17 receptions for 199 yards and no touchdowns this season.

As mentioned before, the Bengals have still yet to get Green back on the field since he injured his ankle in training camp. It was reported before Monday's game versus the Steelers that Green won't make his return for at least a couple more weeks.

For a team that is dire to win their first game of the season, things are beginning to look even bleaker as the weeks progress. Without Ross on the field, Andy Dalton may have to begin throwing to himself in the coming weeks.
