It seems like getting drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round almost guarantees a player they will miss some of their first season. It happened again this year with first-round pick Jonah Williams. Field Yates of ESPN pointed out that each of the last five first-round picks by the Bengals have missed at least part of their rookie season.

Williams was expected to be the starting left tackle for the Bengals this season before a torn labrum during training cut ended his season. The Bengals offensive line wasn't great last year, and it was expected Williams would come in right away and help improve it.

Instead, the Bengals are left scrambling again for a left tackle and are back in the same position they were going into last season.

Last season Billy Price was the Bengals first round pick and he missed six games because of a foot injury. In 2017 John Ross dealt with injury and was benched by Marvin Lewis playing only 17 snaps.

In 2016 William Jackson suffered a torn pectoral that caused him to miss the entire season, and in 2015 Cedric Ogbuehi dealt with a knee injury that cost him in 11 games.

Tyler Eifert was one of the few to make it through his rookie year unscathed in 2013 playing all the games but he has dealt with injury after injury sense so it seems like he is also part of the curse.
