Things went from bad to worst for the Cincinnati Bengals. In their 35-20 loss against the Cleveland Browns, Sunday their starting quarterback Andy Dalton got hurt and its severity is still unknown.

During the Bengals' first series in the second half, Dalton hurt his right thumb and did not return as per Paul Dehner of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Jeff Driskel took over, but he could not lead a comeback for his trailing team. He went 17-of-29  for 155 passing yards with a touchdown.

Two turnovers on downs in the fourth quarter sealed the fate for the now 5-6 Bengals.

It is determined that the injury is not a long-term issue for the 31-year-old signal-caller,  per Katherine Terrell of ESPN. Head coach Marvin Lewis also stated that there will be more tests.

Dalton injured his hand after Billy Price's snap went over his head. Browns defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah tangled with him and injured his thumb as a result.

Before leaving the game, Dalton went 10-of-17 for 100 passing yards to go with a touchdown against an interception.

Through 11 games, he has passed for 2,566 yards and tossed 21 touchdowns with 11 interceptions.

Ever since Dalton took over for Carson Palmer in 2011, Dalton has been impressive. He has led the Bengals to five straight playoff trips from 2011-2015.

Losing him for any amount of time wouldn't be good for the Bengals as they aim to end their current playoff drought.
