The Cincinnati Bengals signed wide receiver Tyler Boyd to a four-year, $43 million contract extension on Tuesday, locking him up through 2023. While fellow wideout A.J. Green is entering the final year of his own deal, Boyd still sees a great future for both Green and himself together:

Boyd is coming off of a breakout 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 76 receptions for 1,028 yards and seven touchdowns. Ironically enough, a big reason why Boyd posted such great numbers was because Green missed a significant chunk of the season due to a toe injury.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Pittsburgh, was originally selected by the Bengals in the second round (55th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He went on to appear in all 16 games during his rookie year, catching 54 passes for 603 yards and a score. However, the following season, Boyd was limited to just 10 games due to a knee injury, snaring 22 balls for 225 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Green entered the league as the fourth overall pick of Cincinnati's back in 2011 and made the Pro Bowl in each of his first seven seasons before finally missing out this past year.

The 30-year-old has registered 1,000 yards in six of his eight NFL seasons, with his best year coming in 2013 when he registered 98 receptions for 1,426 yards while reaching the end zone 11 times.

If Green can come back healthy and Boyd can pick up right where he left off from this past year, the Bengals could very well have one of the best receiving duos as soon as this coming season.
