The Cincinnati Bengals are playing very well this year, but they may have just lost their tight end Tyler Kroft for the season to a foot injury. Earlier this season, the team lost their first-string tight end Tyler Eifert to a broken ankle. League sources say Kroft broke a bone in his foot.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Kroft will not play against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6. He also won't play against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7. Kroft will be meeting with a specialist that can determine whether or not he can play through this injury for the season, or if he'll have to undergo a season-ending surgery.

Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen has figured out to way through foot fractures. In fact, this season is the second one he's had to do so. If Kroft does indeed miss the rest of this season, Mason Schreck will be expected to take over as the starter. Schreck is a second-year tight end that hasn't recorded a single catch in his brief NFL career. Expecting him to produce as a starter off the bat would be a tall order for the Buffalo product.

The Steelers are coming into Week 6 hot after a 41-17 routing in a win over the Atlanta Falcons last week. Improving from 4-1 to 5-1 would give the team a huge boost, as well as some security on their hold of the lead in the AFC North. Tyler Kroft will play a big part in the future of the Bengals in 2018.
