The Cincinnati Bengals have been optimistic about wide receiver A.J. Green's status for Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens. It appears head coach Zac Taylor has seen enough from him to make his return.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, Taylor expects Green to make his 2019 NFL season debut against the Ravens:

“I do think he’ll play on Sunday. He’s been making great progress this week. [Last] Wednesday was a good day, Monday was a good day, now he’s getting back in the fold. We’ll have a good plan in place for him on Sunday.”

Although it had been strongly indicated that Green would make his debut after the bye week, Taylor is finally confident enough to confirm his status. The veteran has endured an ankle injury and trade rumors amidst a tumultuous 2019 campaign in Cincinnati, however, he will now have a chance to help turn things around in the second half of the season.

The veteran's return will coincide with quarterback Ryan Finley making his first career start after Taylor decided to make the switch from quarterback Andy Dalton heading into the bye. It is safe to say that the rookie will be happy to have a wideout of Green's caliber available while he tries to find his footing under center.

It would be fair to temper expectations for the 31-year-old in his first game back. Regardless, he could very well be tasked with serving as a safety net for Finely out of the gate, especially if the Bengals fall behind against this high-powered Ravens offense early on.
