The Cincinnati Bengals enter the final week of the regular season with the worst record in the NFL. Despite what their record indicates, Zac Taylor wants a win at home in Week 17 to “reward” the city of Cincinnati.

“It’s a home game. We’ve only won one of them. We haven’t won a divisional game yet. You can end the season on a positive note,” Bengals coach Zac Taylor said. “It’s a reward for hard work and for the things these guys have put in, and a reward for the city. I know the city wants us to beat Cleveland, as they should — the fan base, the coaching staff, everyone in this building. There’s plenty to play for this week.”

Last week, the Bengals fell to the Miami Dolphins in overtime to tally their 14th loss of the season. With the loss though, Cincinnati clinched the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Considering that, the Bengals have nothing to lose by trying to win in Week 17. Even in his first season as head coach of the Bengals, Taylor realizes what it means for the city of Cincinnati to defeat the Cleveland Browns.

Over the course of the season, the Bengals have only won one game at home. That lone victory came against the New York Jets back in Week 13 and helped Taylor avoid having a winless season in 2019.

A win over the Browns in Week 17 would be something that Cincinnati could hang their hat on heading into the offseason. There's no doubt that the players on the current roster would love to finish the season with a win for the city of Cincinnati and their first-year head coach.
