The Cincinnati Bengals have made their fair share of moves this offseason. That includes bolstering their secondary.

There's a funny coincidence about some of the moves they've made in the secondary though.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, on Thursday, Cincinnati signed former Minnesota Vikings cornerback Mackensie Alexander. Apparently, it's a one-year deal worth $4-million.

What's funny about that is the connection it has to a previous move. As Michael Corvo of our very own ClutchPoints.com wrote on March 17, the Bengals signed cornerback Trae Waynes to a three-year contract worth $42-million.

Waynes, like Alexander, is a former Vikings cornerback.

In reality, this is simply a funny coincidence. It could work out nicely for the Bengals though.

Something to always be a little wary about when signing a free agent is how they will fit into the system. Will they mesh with the team? Will they feel comfortable in the locker room with new teammates? Does their personality match?

While having one familiar face might not mean all that much, it certainly counts for something. Alexander and Waynes are familiar with each other. They have spent the last four seasons with each other. In fact, Alexander has never been on an NFL team without Waynes.

Having that familiar face could help both players get acclimated a little quicker. It gives them someone to learn with.

Most importantly though, these are two talented cornerbacks. The Bengals likely don't care where a player was last. They just wanted talent that will help them win games.

Both Alexander and Waynes are that. They are good cornerbacks who immediately make Cincinnati better with their presences.
