The San Antonio Spurs are one of the most intriguing teams in the NBA since they haven't performed well this season and there are numerous uncertainties about their future.
Many reports have circulated that this may be Head Coach Gregg Popovich's final season, and if that is the case, San Antonio will be in an even more difficult situation than they are now. They'll have to make some savvy trades around this year's trade deadline and over the offseason if they want to go back to where they used to be.

Best Spurs Trades For Thaddeus Young
Spurs get: Obi Toppin, Alec Burks
Knicks get: Thaddeus Young
There have been many rumors that the New York Knicks are looking to trade Obi Toppin, and while that deal might not be for a role player like Thaddeus Young, it could be something that the Knicks consider if they can bring back a star in another deal before the deadline and just want to get a few other role players who they believe can help their team win a title.
The Spurs would be receiving back another young kid with a lot of talent and the ability to be a great NBA player one day. Alec Burks can also hit the three-point shot at a high level, something San Antonio could be interested in.
Spurs get: Davis Bertans, 2022 first-round pick
Wizards get: Thaddeus Young
It would be a risky move for the San Antonio Spurs to trade him for a player like Davis Bertans, but if no other team is willing to make a deal, they must make this one since at the very least they will know he will play. Although Thaddeus Young hasn't played in many games for the Spurs this season, and David Bertans isn't the best player in the world, it is at least a certainty that he will play for them, and having someone on the floor is always preferable to having no one on the court.

Bucks get: Thaddeus Young
The Milwaukee Bucks will undoubtedly be seeking someone who can defend at a high level, and this may be a good deal for all parties. Thaddeus Young will be tasked with guarding many elite offensive stars on any contending team he joins, and in the case of the Bucks, he will be tasked with guarding Kevin Durant for most of the playoffs. This deal might be fascinating for the San Antonio Spurs since they would be receiving Donte DiVincenzo, who is still a young guy who can help build a core with the rest of the young players to get this thing rolling and help San Antonio get back to where they used to be.
They'd also acquire three more players who have shown throughout the course of their careers that they can be above-average and be more than serviceable in this league. They could also be utilized as trade bait during this year's trade deadline and in the summer.

Brooklyn will need someone who can defend and make life difficult for players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid. They may not win an NBA title, as many of their fans hope, if they do not have players to make it difficult for both of these stars.
This might be something the Spurs don't want to do because it would require them to return a large contract, but given how good of a 3-point shooter Joe Harris is, it could be something they are interested in. San Antonio isn't the best 3-point shooting team in the league, so adding a guy who is one of the best from beyond the arc to their roster would undoubtedly help speed up their rebuild, and he'll be someone they can keep when they're contenders again in the future.
