The Tennessee Titans surprised just about everyone on the planet last season upon making it all the way to the AFC Championship Game before ultimately falling to the eventual Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. However, the surging Titans, who have strung together four consecutive 9-7 regular seasons while reaching the postseason twice during that same span, have not let their foot off the gas en route to solidifying the team's roster for years to come only days into this year's free agency period.

On the other hand, the Titans — with a front office certainly aware that their work isn't done just yet — need to keep building the team's roster through the 2020 NFL Draft. Unfortunately for Tennessee, though, the Titans' first selection in the 2020 NFL Draft won't come until pick No. 29 in the first round.

For that reason, free agency will be incredibly crucial for general manager Jon Robinson this time around. With Robinson already finding himself a quarterback, pass rusher, right tackle, and running back for the upcoming season, the Titans still need to fill a few holes — whether it be through free agency or the 2020 NFL Draft. One need that must absolutely be addressed before the 2020 NFL Draft, though, is adding a high-caliber pass rusher to the team's already bolstered unit.

As it stands today, the Titans possess the very formidable pass-rushing tandem of an up-and-comer in Harold Landry and the newly acquired Vic Beasley, who was previously let go by the Atlanta Falcons earlier in the offseason. However, Beasley only signed a one-year free agent “prove it” deal with the Titans with Landry still on the upswing as a future stud along the outside. Because the Titans must think long-term as well, signing either Jadeveon Clowney should remain very high on Robinson's list.

Although this may be a tall task due to Clowney's alleged price tag in addition to the solid market surrounding the former Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks pass rusher, the Titans should have a few other options lined up. Upon parting ways with a tremendous defensive lineman in Jurrell Casey, now a member of the Denver Broncos, on Wednesday afternoon, perhaps adding a player like Markus Golden or retaining Kamalei Correa could help fill this void as well.

It is worth noting that Robert Quinn, Dante Fowler Jr., Quinton Jefferson, Mario Addison, Stephen Weatherly, Carl Nassib, Leonard Floyd, Emmanuel Ogbah, Shaq Lawson, Kyle Van Noy, Bruce Irvin, and Jason Pierre-Paul have all already come off the market as it stands today — not even one full week into this year's free agency period. On the other hand, Arik Armstead, Bud Dupree, Calais Campbell, Yannick Ngakoue, and Shaq Barrett have all either been traded or received their respective team's franchise tag.

Because this particular market is drying up quickly, Robinson must act before it is too late, especially after trading Casey to the Broncos in addition to clearing up a ton of available salary-cap space to kick off his team's offseason activities.
