The Buffalo Bills made headlines by finally giving out the number 32 jersey for the first time since O.J. Simpson. The Bills gave the number 32 jersey to Senorise Perry heading into OTAs.

Andre Reed, a Bills legend and NFL Hall of Famer, said that he believes that the Bills made a mistake by giving out the number 32 jersey again. In an interview with “The Schmo” on NewYorkUpstate.com, Reed was saying the Bills should keep it retired for what Simpson did on the field.

Here's an excerpt from the interview that Reed did.

“I saw that on Instagram, I saw it on social media [that they gave away Simpson’s jersey number],” Reed said. “I just don’t think, regardless of what O.J. did [off the field], you just can’t take away what he did on the field — what he meant to the NFL. I think the Bills should keep that number retired.”

Although, the Bills never truly retired the number 32 jersey. But it was an unwritten rule not to hand out the number in the organization. As Reed said, no one should dawn the number 32 jersey because of what Simpson did on the field—not off of it.

Despite his crimes off of the field, Simpson was one of the best running backs in NFL History. The player who took the number 32 jersey—Senorise Perry—said he saw it wasn't retired so he decided to take it.

Perry wore the number 32 jersey at Louisville and with the Chicago Bears.

Nonetheless, the Bills probably should've had the number retired before a situation like this occurred.
